Application Process To successfully apply for the 2010 Duluth City Bowhunt, hunters MUST complete the following steps. They aren't hard, but we also aren't going to hold your hands anymore. 1) You MUST have taken and passed a Bowhunter's Education Course. You will need to provide your certificate number on the online application. 2) Take and pass your proficiency test. Locations and details are described elsewhere in this site. 3) Complete the online Application. This registers you into the applicaton database. You will need to log into the site using your account, and click the APPLY FOR THE 2010 link that shows up on the top menu after you have logged in. 4) Print off and save the Application, Part 2 page. Sign it in all three spots. Mail to the ABA at the address listed on the bottom of the application form. 5) Returning Hunters MUST send in your check, for $25.00 made payable to The City of Duluth. Do NOT make the check out to the ABA! 6) All New hunters (those that did not participate in 2009) will need to come to the Lottery Night. 7) Every successful applicant MUST attend the mandatory Orientation Night. Details are described at Orientation Night link.
For all hunters, failure to pay by the application deadline will be be grounds for disqualification from the 2010 hunt. Seriously, last year the ABA had to track down too many individuals that "forgot" to send in their payments. If you were to apply for an elk tag in Colorado, and "forget" to pay the application fee, do you think Colorado would allow you into the lottery?
Deadline for Applying for the 2010 Hunt is 6:00 PM on 30 June 2010. This deadline is written in stone, and there will be absolutely ZERO exceptions to this! Bork has to set up the Lottery, get the Roster finalized, etc. Consider this deadline as solid as you would the Moose Hunt deadline for the MNDNR. You think St. Paul would allow you to apply late because you forgot, or you were out of town? This deadline was posted on 20 February 2010, so you all have had the opportunity to see this. There is NO reason to wait until the last week of June to apply. Test in April, apply in April. If you are out of town in April, do so in May. Why wait until June, much less 30 June? |
