Orientation Night

Orientation Night is mandatory for all participating hunters.  Here, hunters will be:

--  Briefed on the official Rules of the Hunt;

--  Briefed on what is expected of them, with respect to hunting, registration of private lands and harvested animals, playing nicely with fellow hunters, forging good relationships between the landowners and the bowhunting community, and the Hot Spot Program;

--  Receive a copy of the Rules Manual and Map; and

--  Meet their Hunt Coordinator and fellow hunters.

You must attend one of the two Orientation Nights.  You do not have to attend both.

Dates of the Orientation Night are: 

Primary:    August 19, 2010 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.    Location: UMD, Bohannen Hall, Room 90 
Make-Up:   August 22, 2010 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm     Location: UMD, Bohannen Hall, Room 90 

Location will be:  UMD, Bohannen Hall, Room 90 

Caveats: 

• Bottom line: If you want to hunt, you must attend an orientation session.
  
• NEW HUNTERS: All new hunters must attend one of the orientations. Failure to do so will very likely result in a hunter not being permitted entry into the hunt unless the hunter has explicit prior approval, in writing, from an ABA Board Member to be excused from these sessions. Such approval will only be permitted for extraordinary and unavoidable personal hardship. It is imperative that new hunters attend an orientation.
  
• RETURNING HUNTERS: Returning Hunters who are unable to attend either session must personally inform a current ABA Board member no later than 18 July 2010. Hunter's submitting requests after that deadline run the likely risk of being denied entry in to the 2010 hunt.  Current Board Members: Phillip Lockett, Paul Kovach, Phillip Mannon, Jeremy Myers, Chris Foucalt, Al Vorderbruggen, & Bork.
