Meeting to discuss hunter number reductions

Posted on May 5, 2017 - News

When: 7:30pm Wednesday May 17, 2017
Where: Duluth City Hall Room 303

ABA board of directors will be hosting a meeting to discuss hunter number reductions for the upcoming season. Given the 2016 wind storm and the damage sustained, as well as a loss of public lands due to development and bike trails, the ABA Board feels some DHAs simply cannot comfortably handle previous hunter numbers. The Board will be meeting to discuss this topic at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, 17 May, in Conference Room 303 at the Duluth City Hall. This meeting is open to the public.

In unit 1 there are too many trails, they have went over over board. What happen to regulations on excavating on public land? Or retaining the excavated areas with the proper seeding and erosion with covering mats, etc? Also, the environment for other wild life? In this area (Fon Du Lac ) there was tremendous flood damage, and still has erosion problems. Last year the trails were being developed right next to erosion areas. Now they want Bow Hunters out. As Bow Hunters we are stewards of the wooded areas in Duluth. If erosion causes any problems from trails,I be speaking out against City Administration at that time. Thank You, Ty Frost

Tyrone, I would encourage you to contact our city councilors and let them know your concerns. Attend the meetings that have been held about adding and expanding more bike trails.
